Press release from:
Who's Who in CSR in India: A Resource Guide - 2003
(CSRwire) Kolkata, India -
The field of Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility is steadily growing in major
developing countries such as India, Russia, South Africa, China and Brazil. New initiatives and
networks have emerged and the field is abuzz with a variety of different groups and actors.
However, information on who is doing what, and where, is not readily available.
In an
attempt to bridge the information gap, the Centre for Social Markets, a non-profit organisation
based in India and UK, is publishing a series of CSR Resource Guides with partners in
each of these four countries over 2003-2004.
The CSR Resource Guides will help promote
networking, information exchange, action and learning with a view to enhancing responsible business
practice in each country. In particular, they will draw attention to emerging indigenous experience
in this field in developing countries.
The series will complement CSM’s website
Portal, Clearinghouse, Regional e-list serves and other networking and information resources
promoting indigenous capacity in this field in developing countries.
The first of the
CSR Resource Guides, ‘Who’s Who in CSR in India: A Resource Guide’ will be
published in association with Ogilvy CSR in 2004.
The Resource Guide will include a
detailed Who’s Who of key actors and agencies, summaries of key literature (including
Surveys, Case Studies, Initiatives, etc.) and important resources. It is intended that each
Resource Guide will be updated periodically.
If you would like to be considered for
inclusion in the guide - or know someone who may - please contact CSM for a questionnaire.
